The Taffy-Making Craft

Crafting saltwater taffy requires precision, skill, and a whole lot of love. At Taffy Town, our artisans take pride in honing their craft and mastering the art of taffy-making. From whipping the taffy to adding just the right amount of flavorings, we carefully execute every step in the process to ensure a perfect batch of taffy every time.

To make saltwater taffy, our confectionary artists mix ingredients like sugar, corn syrup, water, milk, and salt in a large pot. Then they cook the mixture over heat until it reaches the desired temperature. Once the mixture reaches the perfect temperature, the flavoring and coloring are added to give the taffy its signature taste and color. 

Next, they pour the hot taffy mixture onto a marble slab or a large table to cool. This is where our artisans do their magic, turning a simple mixture of ingredients into a work of art. 

Next, the candy makers start the 24-hour conditioning and whipping processes to create the creamy, fluffy texture that gives Taffy Town candy its famous melt-in-your-mouth taste. This process requires skill and patience to get the taffy to the perfect consistency. 

Finally, we cut it into small pieces and wrap it in wax paper to preserve its freshness and flavor. The resulting delectable candy is both sweet and salty, with a chewy texture that melts in your mouth.
